Day 17 – 30 poems in 30 days

This month is National Poetry Writing Month, and it has been brought to my attention by WordPress that this would be an excellent opportunity for us to express ourselves. Everyday, for the entire month, we write a creative piece as homage to poetry. So, I’ve decided to take on this challenge and, it has been years since I wrote anything, so this should be interesting. Obviously, I missed 2 days, but that’s ok. There’s still the rest of the month. Wish me luck!

Day 16

Intriguing is life

Like music heard for the first time

It plays you like a fiddle

In the hands of a drunken master

The sounds varies like our terrestrial journey

And changes tempo with every heartbeat

No one knows if he is going to play all night

Or fall into his pool of intoxicated sorrow

Take this opportunity offered to you

To determine which path is laid before you

It can either set you free or chain you down

For as the evening sets down with the blue moon

Being the life of the party

Just like the fiddle player

Eventually the music comes to an end
