Yeah. I tried it. I did a wash and go. Sigh. Ok, here’s the story ….
I decided to try something new with my hair, with new products and new techniques.
Starting with sectioning my hair into four parts, I shampoo’d my scalp with Jane Carter’s Hydrating Invigorating Shampoo. Then proceeded with the Jane Carter Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner (shown below in pics).
Now I’m gonna stop for a bit and say that, I was surprised by the smell and consistency of the products. The scent was fresh and light and reminded me of citrus (could be wrong about that last part). The shampoo looks rich and thick but, when put to the hair, it reached the scalp quite well (seeing that my hair is very dense). So I was happy how my scalp felt afterwards. The conditioner also felt very nice on my hair. The slip and thickness was great. I was able to finger comb my hair easily. After rinsing, my hair felt soft.
Now, let us proceed with the “no-go”. Seeing that I was going to use the Eco-Styler Gel with Olive Oil, I wanted to make sure that my hair was well moisturized. I normally smoothed each section with leave in conditioner, but this time, I added some oil. I chose Moroccan Oil, focusing mostly on the ends. Then, taking a small section from each of the four parts, I raked some gel through the hair. Started from the roots, I made sure each part was saturated. Please keep in mind that my hair was wet during this process, and I kept spritzing it with water whenever my hair would dry up. I completed my hair with this technique, and my hair looked like I thought it should: curls were popping, hair was separated, yaaay for me!! The end, right?
Nope! So i’m going through my day with wet hair, and I do not like it. I then decide to dry my hair by sitting under a hair dryer. Then proceeded to tie my hair for the night. Well……
The next morning, I untie my scarf and there it is….a huge, sticky, uncurled fro!!! It was horrible!! My hard work was gone. The dream and wish of sporting this particular style was over. Sigh. I don’t think I am going to try this again.
